Morgan Does the following:
Speaks the time on the hour.
Speaks Good Morning, Good Afternoon or Good Evening on the half hour based on the time of day.
Says 30 random phrases when you walk by him.
He is aware of the date and time so he will wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Happy Easter etc.
I enlarged his recharge coupling to house most of the electronics. On his recharge coupling there is a small 1-inch OLED display to allow for displaying the time and other menus that are displayed when specific switches are selected.
He has switches for selecting ‘Set Minute’, ‘Set Hour’, ‘Disable Motion’, Disable Night Audio’, ‘Demo Mode’ and an ‘Increment/Decrement’ for changing the time when the desired menu is displayed. Note: The ‘Disable Motion’ switch and ‘Disable Night Audio’ was is a must if you want to stay married.
He has eyes that are W2812B leds that blink at a random interval. I changed them to green so they would show up on camera. When they were yellow it looked odd on an iPhone camera.
His chest area uses W2812B leds to backlight the chest cavity.
His mouth uses W2812B leds to emulate talking.
I made a decal sheet for his graphics and I printed them on waterslide decal paper. I will attach the decals on a subsequent post with some pictures.
Once you print the decals, use a razor blade knife to carefully cutout the decal inside areas as required. I use scissors to cut the outer part of the decals.
Once the decal is applied, I spray 4-5 light coats of clear acrylic. After the fifth coat, you spray heavier coats. If you use a non-acrylic spray, the decal will bubble and possibly disintegrate. I have used non-acrylic but it is a slow process that requires tons of light mist coats. I would not recommend it.
